WILDLIFE AT BRANCH BROOK PARK
A naturalistic, yet wholly man-made landscape, Branch Brook Park is home to a wide variety of animals.
Its waterways are home to catfish, carp, sunfish, snapping turtles, and eel, as well as being periodically stocked with trout and bass.
Foxes, raccoons, possums, groundhogs, skunks, chipmunks and squirrels find shelter in the park's woodlands, as well as the occasional deer and turkey.
Crossed by the North American Flyway, dozens of species of birds fly through the park each year, but on most days, you can spot gulls, geese, herons, hawks and ducks. Red-winged blackbirds frequent the park's waterways.
