Adopt-A-Tree

Caring for Branch Brook Park's trees means caring
for the health of
Essex County.

Picture
The Adopt-A-Tree program provides for the permanent care of Essex County's Branch Brook Park's 360-acre green space. From flowering cherry blossom trees to majestic oaks, contributions to the Adopt-A-Tree sponsorship ensure the continuation of our work since 1999 in caring for our environment and our community.

Today, this historical landscape work of art is home to the largest and most varied collection of Japanese Flowering Cherry Blossom Trees in the United States. As of 2022, we have 5,300 in 18 varieties throughout the 360-acre park.

Our Adopt-A-Tree program offers many unique recognition opportunities. For important milestones, endow a mature tree and create a living memory that will last for generations to come. Many supporters choose to make a contribution as a gift in honor or memory of someone, or to celebrate a joyous occasion. You or the person you are honoring will receive a beautiful certificate with the date of the gift. Wherever you see trees in the Park, you will know your special one is among them.
In 2004, as part of the Cultural Landscape Report, Treatment, and Management Plan prepared for Branch Brook Park and funded through Branch Brook Park Alliance set the foundation for our efforts, including this this Adopt-A-Tree program.

Recognition & Naming

Recognition of your tree adoption is recognized on our virtual map. The GPS location and picture of the tree will be added online. In addition, you will be invited to take a photo with your tree or you can send one to upload to the recognition page. Please note, it is not possible to install physical plaques or naming stones in the Park.

Adopt-A-Tree Donation

All donations made to the Adopt-A-Tree program are 100% tax deductible. You can make your selection below to donate direct online and in the "notes" section please state the purpose of the donation. In this instance, "Adopt-A-Tree."
