Our expert tour guides have a wealth of knowledge to share about the history of the Park, the wildlife living within it and the cultural events that make Essex County Branch Brook Park a hub of recreation and entertainment. Whether you're looking for enriching family time, a fun day of exploration with friends our tours have something for you. Especially during the annual cherry blossom season.

Tour Information

Join the park conservancy team for a 45-minute walking tour (60-minutes in total) and learn about the historical significance of ​Essex County Branch Brook Park and the renowned collection of Japanese Flowering Cherry Blossom Trees.

This is a walking tour through 83 acres of the Park's Southern Division around Branch Brook Lake. Please be sure to carve out enough time to arrive and use the restroom, prior to the tour start time. We expect to be on the tour for at least one-hour between questions, taking pictures, and exploring the area. ​

​What days and times are the tours?

Thursday @ 11 AM & 1 PM
The weekends are far too congested with vehicles and pedestrians during the cherry blossom season. However, you can visit our information booth and make a donation for an on-the-spot tour if a guide is available during your visit.

Where do I park?

Anywhere in Prudential Concert Grove of Essex County Branch Brook Park. Them walk to the location noted below. 

Where do we meet?

We will meet you at the bust of Frederick Law Olmsted, Sr. Click here for the exact google maps location.

What do I bring?

Comfortable shoes, water, snacks, sunscreen, bug spray, camera/phone to take pictures, hat, sunglasses, and
anything else that will make your experience more enjoyable. However, don't bring more that you can carry. ​

Walking Distance

Expect to walk at least 1.5 miles, round trip.

Registration Fee

$15 donation per person. This is a non-refundable donation to Branch Brook Park Alliance. 

What is the group size of each tour?

We cap each tour at 25 people.
